The slave journal is usually the property of the slave but it is meant to be read by the Master.
Thus, the Master may require that the slave address the journal directly to her and that a special written form be followed.
For example, it is common for slaves to use the lower case when referring to themselves and to capitalize all references to the Master, i am writing this journal as You requested. And I hope it meets with Your approval." Or, they may be required to omit the first person pronoun altogether: "this slave is writing a journal as You requested."
Some Masters find the use of the possessive in reference to them highly offensive, as the Master does not belong to the slave. They feel it is more appropriate for a slave to speak of "the Master" than of "my Master." Holding to this pattern can result in some interesting linguistic difficulties, but greatly encourages mindfulness. It is to be used at the Master's discretion.
Entries should be made in the journal on a regular basis (anywhere from once a day to once a week has proved useful). The Master may wish to respond, verbally or in written form, to the entries.
At very least, the Master, will have a better insight, into the slave's thoughts and frame of mind.
Daily journal entries:
In many cases it may be beneficial to have a structured daily or weekly report to be written into the journal.
The exact specifications will vary based on the needs of the relationship dynamic, however some generally useful things you may wish to record in the journal are:
1] Dislike about the day.
2] Like about the day.
3] Recognition of the Masters effort and work in the relationship, potentially the favourite one.
4] Recognition of the slaves efforts, and services in the relationship, potentially the favourite one.
5] Also add if there was any resentment that occurred inside or outside of the relationship dynamic.
6] Thing the slave had to be proud about.
7] Way in which the slave improved, and/or maintained slaves self that day.
8] A statement of renewal and devotion to the relationship
9] Any ways in which the slave failed to complete an obligation.
10] Any obligations for the next day that are planned to be achieved by the slave.
11] Any special information that needs to be relayed based upon the specific needs of the power exchange dynamic.
This sort of journal can be a great tool to not only is it reflective and aware of ones day, but also to search for good and undesirable patterns between days and weeks.
These patterns can then be used to create a conscious intention for how one approaches their days in the future, by playing to their strengths, and working to reduce weaknesses.
